I have children that are all under the age of 15 and I still don’t leave them home alone. Unless there’s an adult in the house you’ll never know what can happen😢. He is pure evil psycho I hope he gets caught and is giving life in prison without parole throw the key away.PURE EVIL

These stories often have similarities…a very immoral background…single mom, mom’s relationship with boyfriend takes precedence over the children… Daughter was a common runaway, her sister wouldn’t stay in the home. Melissa is on an online dating service??? At 15? Where was mom? After getting off work at 4 she goes to a bar with her boyfriend, doesn’t discover her daughter is missing until 2:30 am, doesn’t call the police until 1:45 pm the next day, and then she goes to work knowing her home was broken into and her daughter is MISSING???? Thats where she was when the police find her to tell her they’ve found the body of her daughter? Definitely not the families I knew in the 60s. How far our society has fallen when this kind of family is considered normal. I’m SO grateful for my mom and dad who took their job as parents SERIOUSLY!!!

And mom cries..how horrible this has been, what a loss, our poor little girl…while she created the entire scenario!!! Mom is as guilty as the creep who murdered her.

Incredibly odd that her Mother didn’t immediately contact police. Okay so Melissa had run away before. Fine. She didn’t destroy the living room and kick the door in from the outside to run away. Use some common sense. Cleaning up the crime scene. Did the police even check the lighter and cigarette pack to see if they matched to Alan Dean?! That ‘dating’ hotline was a joke. Dean was 35 when Melissa was 15 and they went out on dates? Pedo.
Edit: Very telling that the police scrutinized the 15 y/o ex b/f and spent quite a bit of time researching him yet they immediately dismissed as a suspect the 35 y/o pedo who was her actual murderer. Very lame police work.
