Why would a star, “kicked out” of a binary system, “come to rest” anywhere, especially in a section of largely empty space, where there’s nothing to stop it??
That’s either bad science or bad script writing.

Simple answer. There was a stray cloud of gas that made it far away from everything else. It eventually formed into this star.
