Professor Keller has created a machine that can pacify even the most dangerous of criminals. But when the Doctor and Jo arrive at Stangmoor Prison for a demonstration, things start to go horribly wrong – especially when they discover that the Doctor’s old enemy the Master is responsible for the machine. What could he possibly want from the criminals? And what connects him with an impending World Peace Conference?

I’ve always loved how in this episode, there was one detail the set designers missed. The prison cell the Doctor and Jo spent so much time in, had a problem with the door. One of the “Bolts” fell off the frame for the window in the door. Nobody bothered to glue it back on!

Obviously weapons training/marksmanship isn’t taught in the British military when the convicts are better shots than the soldiers and everyone in UNIT.
