Why is Kelsey and Josh dancing and kissing in this “journey” of Liza and Josh. I never wanted to kick my TV more than when they hinted at them hooking up. I honestly think I might have stopped watching.
I’m new to this series. I just finished watching it on Netflix and thought I’d look at some videos to see what fans of the show have said about it. I know a lot of fans are team Liza and Charles, but I thought it was both sad and good for the Charles/Liza relationship to finally end. I was very happy to see Liza and Josh come together at the end of the series. It reminded me of a great old film, The Long Hot Summer with Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward. Like Clara in the film, I think Liza is in love with the IDEA of Charles and the IDEA of what they could be as a couple, but I don’t think she was really in love with Charles the man. Submitting his unfinished book without his knowledge or permission crossed boundaries and doomed their relationship. We don’t see her try to change Josh because she loves him the way he is and he loves her the way she is. 💞🔥
Why script didn’t put your words in the last episode? Would have been great. Like “hey charles, I CHOOSE josh over you because the idea of you is not enought”. I don’t like subtle endings.
@MonilliSocraI see your point but I think they just tried to balance out the love triangle arch. I mean Charles was the IDEAL candidate and she owed it to herself to go all the way. So I’m okay with how they bowed out, cause it didn’t leave room for second guessing anymore
Name of that show pleaseeee?
Younger.
My ex husband was 13 years younger than me. The age difference really worked. This reminds me of my love story. I was in my 30’s and he was in his 20’s during our relationship.
Liza is a jerk. She fell for her boss, Charles, while she was in a relationship with Josh. When Charles left her to pursue a dream, she ended up with Josh as a some sort of a consolation prize. Totally an unlikeable character and not worth the watch until the end of the show.
Despite Liza’s lying and cheating he always protected her never telling anyone about her truth or her cheating. Felt bad for him he is a sweet guy TBH he deserves much better, Liza always made his life miserable.
absolutely agree. He kept even the cheating thing to Kelsey, a close friend that could have been a shoulder to cry on. Absolutely a gentleman.
I had to stop watching this show. I wanted someone like him so bad and knew I would never find him cause he is not real. 😢
So do they end up together at the end of the show?
For me, the ending was symbolic of a second chance. Same situation as when they met, but a few years later. They have grown and evolved, lived, loved and are now getting together without secrets. Reminded me of the movie Rebound. They needed to grow apart and fall back together.
I needed this video. Josh deserved so much better he was put through the wringer and still stayed. imo after that infinitely 21 ad she should’ve realized cause Charles was a filler that took too much time.
I was more team Charles, but I really like Josh. Just not for Liza. The thing is: I don’t think she deserved either of these great guys. She was playing with their feelings, didn’t take any responsibility and she was super selfish. Especially in regard Charles, who gave up so much for her and asked her to meet him half way. Not to mention his children got involved and she just walked away. She was a mum too, so she sould have known better. In my opinion Josh was more mature emotionally than her and had a character ark, while Liza was just the same at the end as in the beginning.
I totally get where you’re coming from but I don’t think marriage is meeting someone halfway. I’m of the admittedly weird opinion that Josh deserved Liza because he loved her unconditionally and she made him the happiest (and sweet Josh deserves all the happiness) but she did not deserve him because she repeatedly broke his heart.
A lot of people point out that Charles offered more stability because he was Liza’s age but I think he was a lot more impulsive than Josh ever was. Charles gave up his family business for a woman who had been lying to him even though he had children to feed who had just be abandoned by their other parent.
Josh continuously bettered himself and put himself in a position where he could help the people around him.
Part of me wishes Josh and Claire worked out because she seemed just as sweet as him and they did such a good job co-parenting.
Liza seemed to just want whichever guy was doing alright without her at any time.
Josh doesn’t deserve Liza. Now that I’m just finished the show I can’t believe she ever said “I’ve never felt more the real me than the last few months with you”.
I still can’t believe that when Josh caught her kissing Charles, she told him “you’re everything to me,” while on her list of priorities he was in fourth place, tied with Charles, with a question mark next to each of them. That it had all been “a mistake.” Shortly after that, she tells Charles she’s in love with him. How is kissing the person you’re in love with a mistake? Instead of just being honest.
Every time Josh brought her back down to earth with sensible, mature arguments about why their relationship could work, she’d make that face like, “what a drag.” She would’ve dated Charles from the very beginning, and since she couldn’t, she always went back to Josh—something that was completely unfair. She’s simply a liar.
When you can’t believe the protagonist because you never know when she’s being sincere and when she isn’t, the entire show collapses under its own incoherence. And don’t tell me the series was about personal growth and not about romance. Sure—Darren Star wanted the same thing for the ending of Sex and the City, and that “personal growth” was reconciling with Big; otherwise Carrie wouldn’t have ended up so happy.
In a show where they shove 400 hours of “happy ending” with Josh into every single episode, it was impossible for anyone to empathize with Liza and Charles’s story. Bottom line: she’s a liar. I always loved it when Josh kissed other girls—Clare, Kelsey… I’d think, “good for you.” I’ve never felt that way in any other love triangle in any story.
Truth is Josh became a fan favourite and by s7 we all just wanted for him to be happy. The only reason I was happy Lisa broke up with Charles and they had their full circle moment was because it seems Liza was what Josh wanted the most and I wanted for Josh a true HEA
10:50 “I know when you’re lying” peak Josh & Liza moment ❤❤❤
