I understand subscription fatigue, but Buzzsprout is a recurring purchase because it costs money every month to host your show. If you’re able to pay $100 for a lifetime of hosting and then upload terabytes of video and millions of downloads on it, that would lose a ton of money and they would very quickly go out of business.
Just a reminder to everyone that Spotify is testing a “Skip ahead” button for premium subscribers that lets users one-click skip all ads that you might sell and even plugs of Patreon etc. (Source: Podnews). They’re also a terrible steward of the open podcasting ecosystem. Something to consider before giving them your video and making the experience of their app better and buying more into their walled garden!
