I personally believe that we’ll have made Earth uninhabitable for us and other mammals, and a significant portion of other animals and plants in the next 25 years.
That is utter claptrap. More likely to happen is AI will assist in the discovery of far more efficient energy production and environmental management techniques. For the first time ever we have the capacity to destroy ourselves? Have you heard about the nuclear arms race that began over 70 years ago now? What possible research could you cite that states a 1 in 6 chance of ‘life as we know it’ ending by the end of this century? I challenge you to post a link to the ‘research’.

Humanity, even when combined as a whole, will never even approach the potential for catastrophe posed by Mother Nature. For instance, the rate of temperature rise during the Bolling Allerød Interstadial far exceeded the current rate. And that was just 14 thousand years ago. A blink in geological terms. Also, Earth has been cooling for 92 million years. 20K years ago, the last glacial maximum, was the coldest point in 450 million years. Life does not favor cold conditions.
