What surprises me the most is there’s no dark energy accelerated expansion of space or distance, 70 km/s per Mpc occurring between the two galaxies.
It should be called the milky andrama way

No, this is just an initial due diligence, to work out the MoU for the merger. Actual merger will not take place before the end of this decade.
Maybe it means that intergalacty comets in our solar system are the beggining of that merger…
