A Michigan father was forced to face the son who survived his deadly rampage during an emotional sentencing hearing. After pleading guilty to shooting three of his children and killing his 17-year-old son, Jeffery Smerer listened as his surviving son confronted him in court, saying, “You deserve life plus more. I wish you could live two lives in there.” Prosecutors say even more bloodshed was prevented when the children’s mother and a 20-year-old son intervened to stop the attack.

I ain’t buyin this stopped taking medication bullshit. And it’s bullshit. The medication ain’t gonna stop you from killing folks. That’s instinctive, no medication in this world is gonna stop it.

0:34 I’m strict with mine and my son’s medication, and that’s zero excuse for turning on your own kids like that; my father was abusive and a walking Cluster B case (NPD and ASPD were suspected; had bipolar disorder and was deep in denial) and would’ve pulled this had I not put a stop to it when I did. So Ik personally what it feels like to never have your parent love you like they should, abuse you and try to/end up getting you/your siblings. May this narc rot and May the surviving kids get the help they need to heal from this. The ultimate betrayal; as a mother myself now, I’m working hard to break those cycles with my own son. 😡😡😡

In Italy, where I live, it is sadly rather common for parents, especially mothers, to brutally murder their kids and then getting excused because of “depression”. A major charity helping people, especially women with depression made a formal complain, since it is so common, that ignorant people think that anyone with depression is a potential child murder.

Do people ever “snap” … and suddenly do good things?

This is the first time I have ever heard clinical depression and anxiety used to explain, if not to excuse, murder.
