Christopher Horne Jr., who pleaded no contest to second-degree murder and three counts of attempted robbery in connection with Kayla Rincon-Miller’s death, is sentenced to 25 years in prison. Before being sentenced, Horne Jr. apologized to the victims and their families and accepted responsibility for his actions. Rincon-Miller was killed during a deadly robbery after a night at the movies with friends. Horne Jr.’s co-defendant, Thomas Stein, is scheduled to be sentenced on July 10.

I’m thinking the Judges gives these light sentences because they need to make room for future prisoners. If prisons get full with lifers where would they start sending future criminals?
