Taylor Swift’s lawyers aggressively hit back at a former Last Vegas showgirl who’s suing the pop star for trademark infringement.
Maren Flagg sued Swift in March, claiming the singer’s latest album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” infringes upon her 2015 trademark of the phrase “Confessions of a Showgirl,” which Flagg has used to build up her own brand.

Taylor behaving like a bully? Shocking!
Bot
She’s absolutely right. I usually side with small businesses when celebs try to take over a trademark. Hailey Bieber, Katy Perry, Blue Ivy, etc. But those are NAMES. “Showgirl” is a single word, far too commonly used in the vernacular. It was right for taylor’s “The Life of a Showgirl” trademark to be denied, because it’s too similar to an existing trademark, but it’s absolutely batshit for Maren to sue Taylor for her album name. That is fair use of the word. This is a cash grab and clout chasing. I’m annoyed she is making me defend a huge celebrity in a legal battle.
Absolutely.
