If the best way to see them is to measure the dimming of light from said stars. How can they say yes it’s Earth like probably a super Earth? It has deep oceans etc etc…
Due to something called Spectroscopy. Light is information and scientists can read it. When light from the exoplanet’s star hits the exoplanet and comes to us, we can decode the info.
