Make no mistake, DSA candidates are winning because Trump lied to young voters when he said no more wars and that he would lower prices. 18-35 specifically says “Trump lied to us”. It’s not even that they specifically like democratic socialism, but when Trump has no answers for healthcare affordability or housing affordability or even grocery affordability, you can’t blame voters for gravitating towards folks who’s platform is specifically designed to address those things.
Republicans hold all the majorities and haven’t done a thing to address these issues, so in a way, Trump is responsible for the rise of Democratic Socialism.
