The deal is expected to close in early 2027, pending MLB approval. And for a little context on just how much sports franchise values have exploded — Arte Moreno, who is selling the Angels, bought them back in 2003 for $180 million. Kroenke is buying them for $4 billion. That is a 2,100 percent increase in just 23 years.
