Split Enz’s fifth album True Colours was released in 1980, with the single I Got You going to number one in both Australia and New Zealand. The album also topped the charts on both side of the Tasman, with the record being released in a multitude of cover colour combinations. The Kiwi band’s line-up during the True Colours era featured Tim Finn, Neil Finn, Eddie Rayner, Nigel Griggs, Malcolm Green and Noel Crombie.
True Colours celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2020.

Great song ! I can’t seem to get it out of my head and I can’t sleep . I lost my dad and a few others that I loved in the 80’s and it’s music like this that has kept me going all these years since then . Maybe this was just a song for this band and a way to make money , but I don’t know if they realize how much this song and others are still played and loved by their fans . Thank you for your talent . ❤
