As a Spaniard, I congratulate the English team and the English fans on the great game they played today; from my perspective, you were quite effective at stifling our style of play. At times, we struggled to control the ball and play out from the back due to your team’s pressing. While one could argue that we were wasteful and missed many chances in front of goal, I must also acknowledge that your team missed opportunities too—such as Kane’s penalty (though I have to add that the penalty decision was questionable to me, as Rodri never actually made contact with Bellingham, who simply threw himself to the ground to deceive the referee; but well, that’s the sort of thing that happens in football). In any case, I never underestimated England, although I admit I expected a slightly easier match, England surprised me, and I think we witnessed a game worthy of a World Cup final. Despite the defeat, England can be proud of the performance they put in against Spain—the current world champions—and I am sure this experience will serve them well in the future.
At this point I am pretty sure the pundits on this panel decide pre- show, which one of them are going to call the nation’s league a friendly tournament 😂

The penalty was just a horrible decision! In real time I saw how Bellingham played for penalty (classic – “I touch ball first and get down and it is penalty”), but he threw himself way too fake and there was no touch from Rodri! Unfortunately the slow motion once again showed it’s disadvantages and from there it seemed confusing! Bellingham was happy they won the penalty as if it’s already a goal – I was hoping he is punished for being happy wayntoo early and it happened! No penalty at all! Spain deserved the win!
