Today’s SpaceX Starship launch, which occurred at the company’s Starbase launch site near Boca Chica, Texas, marked the second test flight of the spacecraft. Unfortunately, the mission encountered a significant failure shortly after reaching space, resulting in the loss of the vehicle. The Starship, designed for future missions to the moon and beyond, was uncrewed for this test.
The two-stage rocketship managed to ascend approximately 90 miles (148 km) above ground, intending to complete a 90-minute test mission. However, the Super Heavy first stage booster exploded over the Gulf of Mexico soon after detaching from the core Starship stage. Subsequently, SpaceX lost contact with the Starship’s second stage, with indications suggesting it also failed, possibly due to an automated flight termination command.

How is the popping sound made?
copied from Google, rocket engines create a “crackling” sound due to the shock waves created by the intense sound pressure levels rocket engines create.
Why did they blow it up?
Some of the engines got starved of fuel due to a deceleration
So what happened to the Starship?
Starship separated from its booster as planned, but contact was lost, and SpaceX suspects the self-destruct system activated due to an onboard issue.
I wonder why every time they launch a rocket, it seems to always end up going sideways. To me I would get up there faster going straight. Also that sounded like a bunch of fire crackers going off .
Basic orbital dynamics says otherwise. They are trying to get into orbit, not fall back down
