Trevor Horn (as others have mentioned) did a benefit a few years back, “The Prince’s Trust” live, where many vids from his long run of greatness are showcased. Well worth watching some. Oh…and for something really kinda weird that’s tied to Horn, try the band “The art of noise” and the original video for “Close (to the edit)”. There is a child as the main character in the video who will both make you adore her and give you a bit of the creeps at the same time. Some places banned the video because of that, but it is a wonderful slice of music history.
Love the 80’s sound of this song! I watched it when it was first broadcast and it brought me so much joy!
Very famous song. Yes, first song on MTV. My theory is that previously songs were made for the radio and songs were supposed to be 2 or 3 minutes at the most. This song was made for this official music video on MTV so they probably wanted double the song length, 4 to 6 minutes for video consumption.
