This is CNN trying to ruin airbnb service with what could be a few incidents versus millions of rentals with happy customers. Not the first time CNN wants to ruin tourism and small businesses with over exaggeration, so what’s next ?Uber or Uber eats, or other apps that allows people to have personal own businesses, fast food place employees are all spitting on your food.

To be fair, one of those late evening investigation shows like ABC’s 20/20 did a nearly identical report on cameras in hotels a decade or two ago.
Hotels hate the airbnb popularity.
I have never used AirBnB but I don’t understand why this is reported as an AirBnB issue. Clearly people don’t understand the concept of these types of services. They’re just a platform to connect users with owners. Even reporting those instances to police: this has to be done by the complainant. If the person who finds the camera isn’t going to call the police, why would AirBnB? They can’t file a criminal complaint on their behalf or are physically there with the evidence. This story should be about all the creeps using the service and how to detect the cameras and immediately call the police. You don’t demonize and shut down the delivery driver if some of the cooks are criminal.
I was being sexually harassed by The Host And his girlfriend so I left the Apartment and They Hacked into my account and Pretended to be Me And Canceled my stay and stole my money after Receiving and Email saying I cancelled my stay!! Airbnb contacted me and wanted the key back to the apartment and I refused to give it back and Kept it but I never Got compensated and lost my Airbnb account and I was Afraid because they called me with a voice changer trying to say i did something illegal. I never got any Response after losing my money and being sexually targeted 😢 I ended up staying at a Hotel after that .
Would not surprise me if it happened in hotels as well
I (a guy) often thought I was watched in motels. I didn’t care. I was young. I’m a guy. And cheap small cameras weren’t really a thing at the time.
For sure it’s happening now specially to women or couples.
