thank you Naional Geographic. I have always wondered how these countries and people recovered. It’s a terrible terrible thing that happened. when you interview the survivors, it gives me a personal look. I live in a tsunami zone. just trying to educate myself and be prepared
Put your phones away and stop recording a video. If there is a natural disaster save lives not videos… I don’t understand people that whip out a phone when something like this happens..
Im just sitting here sobbing. That poor little boy… Alone amongst dead bodies for weeks and weeks… Nobody to hold him, nobody to love him and tell him it will be okay. Save the Children took good care of him and reunited him with his father. The trauma that poor guy now has must be so hard
My best friend lost her aunt, cousins and uncle in the Thailand wave. Watching this really put the pain and loss into perspective. And every time i watch anything about this I can just feel the heartbreak.
Remember seeing news about it and not really understanding it (we had just had a horrible loss in our own family at the time). Just cant imagine seeing any of this first hand
The true beauty and strength of humanity shines the brightest during the worst of days!
I remember a friend who took the first bus available from Bangkok to volunteer. He was there for weeks in the unit gathering, IDing those bloated bodies. The story went far far beyond what’s told by the media.
This was soberingly excellent.
23:40 the way they look at each other 😢
So where did all the water recede to?
