Stunning footage of Sailfish three metres long closing in on Prey. Ever the resourceful hunter, they will only use just enough energy to make their kill, never wasting a fin stoke. What is more remarkable is how they can change colour to warn its companions or confuse its prey.

I am writing a piece for big band inspired by these magnificent creatures! It is called proto-cooperation and is pretty high octane, just like the life of a Sailfish!

Sailfish: That’s baitfish mate.
Very majestic one sweep then stab then the prey fish swims up and away then the birds rely on the sword fish to bring them up so they can eat then scare them back down and the cycle repeats truly amazing
So they spear the fish with their noses….next?
