ABSOLUTELY HATED THE END OF THIS MOVIE. KRISTEN DUNCE IS A GREAT ACTRESS AND I DON’T KNOW HOW THESE THINGS PSYCHOLOGICALLY AT SOME TIME OR SOME POINT WOULD AFFECT HER AFTER THE CHARACTERS SHE PLAYED SAME WITH SALLY FIELDS AND THE SAME WITH PATTY DUKE. I DON’T KNOW HOW THESE WOMEN CAN PLAY THESE INTENSE ROLES THAT THEY PLAY AND SOMEHOW NOT, IT AFFECTS THEM IN THEIR PSYCHOLOGICAL MAKEUP OR THEIR ACTIVITIES.N I’LL TELL YOU ONE THING. THEY ALWAYS SAY THAT YOU CAN’T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER. AND THAT IS TRUE, BUT SOMETIMES I DON’T KNOW IF PLAYING THESE ROLES IN THESE MOVIES IS WORTH THE STRESS THAT IT TAKES ON THEIR LIVES. ANYBODY REMEMBER MARY PICKFORD IN THE SILENT MOVIES? AND LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TO HER. THERE HAVE BEEN HUNDREDS PROBABLY THOUSANDS OF ACTRESSES THAT HAVE PLAYED THESE AMAZING ROLES. AND LOOK AT WHAT HAPPENED TO THEIR LIVES, HOLLYWOOD AND ALL THEIR WANTING TO CREATE THESE AMAZING STORIES. YOU WONDER IF IT WAS WORTH IT, BUT THE DAMAGE THAT THEY DID PSYCHOLOGICALLY TO THESE PEOPLE, THAT GOES FOR MEN ALSO WITH ALL THE WAR MOVIES, THE COMBAT SCENES, THE EXPLOSIONS, THE MURDERS. WHAT KIND OF PSYCHOLOGICAL TOLL DID IT HAVE ON ALL OF THEM JUST THINK ABOUT IT

That was a very disturbing movie and a most disturbing ending 😮

Slow & soo boring. it amounted to nothing. Ending was crap.

He was lulling her into a false sense of security buying that house, opening a health store, pretending to be a ‘normal’ country boy with nothing, like her. A plain man, with no money and only wants love. Eventually, once he’d sucked her in enough, he’d had enough pretending.

I know we’re supposed to feel bad for Ryan Gosling and hate his father but he’s right. He should not be subsidizing the life of a grown man and his wife. The fact that the boy didn’t have any alternative plan other than to go and work for his father says a lot about his lack of maturity.
