Very dark movie, and very dark family – suppose such environments exsist – but what a pointless and Godless story. Everybody, just damned and lost. What was it good for – absolutely no point in the end eigther…

I can’t get over how many scenes, not only remind me of, but look almost identical to small town areas in B.C. Canada. The highway motel at the beginning looks just like the one just outside Grand Forks. When he’s walking up the tracks, 23 or 24 minutes in, looks like many tracks in the west Kootenays, made me think specifically of between Nelson and Harrop. The shot at near the beginning of the island to the left, and tree filled coast line much like Kootenay lake, Balfour ferry or Horseshoe Bay ferry going to Gibsons…. and that’s just the first half hour! Amazing, because it says that Rabbit was filmed in Australia.
Not an action film, so if that’s what you are looking for, this movie isn’t it. It’s a good, deep feeling drama with intensity you feel. Good movie, good characters. Your heart feels it and it makes you think. 🤔👍❤️
That’s some real West Va hill billy story, sister having kids for two brothers! So his son is also his nephew!! I wonder what he’ll tell his wife when he goes back home?????

A description of the life of some living in the mountains of West Virgina, or Kentucky. It was and is backwoods in it’s civility.
