I tried doing this today and the part at 1:19 where they simply take off the top by using a utility knife is WAY WAY harder than they make it look in this video. The utility knife doesn’t cut it. I spent hours prying and hammering with a putty knife and dinging up the wall trying to get the backsplash part off. I still don’t have it off yet. Maybe tell people in the video that this part is not easy. It can get pretty messy and will take hours.

Okay lets say you do ALL OF THAT WORK and you put the new vanity top/sink on and then at the end when you go to reconnect the P-trap it doesn’t line up anymore because the new sink drain sits out further from the wall than the original drain. What are you supposed to do then? Can you buy longer P-traps? Everything in this video just works out perfectly and they don’t seem to encounter any issues. Doing this in real life seems to be a lot more difficult, as I have encountered multiple issues not shown here.

So when I’m getting is basically to replace a vanity top you pry the old one off and glue the new one on. What could be simpler?😀

Unbelievable video. You inspired me to do this on my own instead of paying hundreds of dollars for a plumber. Thank you!! 👏😮🤞

Dumb question. I currently have a large vanity top space but my sink it almost to one side. Can I replace with a sink that’s in the middle?
