She is correct. In PHX AZ my rent was 850$ for a two bed two bath. Then corporate come is bought the apartment plex and from 2019 to 2023 went to 1580. Same apartment same crappy plumbing. The painted the outside of the apartments and put up a huge sign. Newly remodeled BS. Same place nothing was remodeled except the wash room. They took the old washing machines that worked great and was $1.25 to new crappy machines and the wash was $3.25. it is bad. Why work just to pay the rent and be broke af 😢. True story 😭

I’m a veteran in the midwest. I bring in 2100 from the VA for disability. My rent is over 1950, without additional bills. I wish it worked like being active duty from state to state, but that’s not the case.
Why do these landlords have a death wish ?

I really think working really hard but not making hardly any progress on long term reasonable goals can lead to depression. And many have to take care of older sick relatives, children, pets, and like me have their own health issues too 😢 the struggle is real but I never give up hope things will improve for the future generations
