Interesting, where do people from Shelter Island work?
this is a summer house so probably they only stay there a couple of times a year , like the rest of the population. Its a millionaires island of course…
I imagine most homes there are vacation homes like this one. These homeowners live in Brooklyn. I’m sure the people who live there year round work in the various shops and restaurants on the island.

Whatever it costs, I could tell you as someone who grew up on LI, but much closer to Queens, it’s worth every penny. I, rather fortunately, spent summers, and even Christmases, in the Hamptons. My best memories are all out there. Especially where it’s not filled with just summer people, lol. It’s so laid back. And, there’s nothing liking hearing snow hitting the water on Christmas eve, when no one else is around. It’s magical ❤

What a gem! One of my fav houses…the whole gestalt of the layout, furniture and how it is situated with view of the water. Even getting there is part of the allure.. In addition she was lovely.
