I have used a Lodge plain cast iron Dutch oven for some years. That pot is a workhorse. No enamel to chip or break. I am very happy with it. It cooks beautifully. The cost was very reasonable. I wonder what shortcomings Adam would say it has. It obviously does not have a white interior. Otherwise, it seems perfect to me.

I couldn’t bring myself to spend so much money on the Le Creuset, so I went with their 2nd choice: Cuisinart. It arrived today and it’s not only gorgeous, but the quality is superb. I’m so grateful to America’s Test Kitchen for their honest reviews – I consult their videos for all my kitchen/cooking purchases!

I have some Le Creuset items myself. Yes they are expensive but they’re well made, durable, and always get the job done. No issues.
