To fulfill a need for an escape along with his lifelong dream of building something entirely from the start, a man found the perfect location on a remote island in the Bahamas. Then, he built the Thatch House — an off-the-grid eco-friendly surf camp.
This series explores the intentional architecture and inspired design behind beautiful beach cottages retreats. In each episode we meet the homeowners and architects who carefully curated the homes design influenced by the surrounding landscape and waterways.

Beautiful, precious haven.❤
There is no surf in the Bahamas and there’s definitely no surf in this video…lol what an embarrassment…
Surfer’s beach in Eleuthera is a popular surf spot. I’ve been there it has a decent swell.
😂
72-73 I was 15-16 and took a solo surf trip to N. Eluthera . Mackey airlines from Miami, stayed at Rat Haven in Gregory Town, it was owned by Wendell Woods. Surfed surfers beach and drank and ate at Gladys’s. Returned dozens of times for many years. Had a bakery on the top of the hill with pineapple tarts and thick chewy white bread, so good, Thompson bakery I beleive.
@TRizzle-e3mNah, its Moss Man, I remember a big thick blonde hair guy had a local gal, think maybe Tarzan.
I could use some Stone Crab on that dock!
Awesome….
amazing
source for imitation thatch..?
The Bahamas is a special place (a place that neocolonialists shouldn’t be in …again).
