1979 my all time favourite year of pop music and this song contributed to it. Guess what 1978 is second. (The world got its act together for one last time for me and 1983 became third.) Music somehow held itself together just about for the 80’s. I don’t think rap music appearing at start of 90’s helped. Almost all my 300-odd LPs I bought were from those two decades (plus a few from Diana Ross at start of 90’s). This single is one of the very few I ever bought. (Apologies for the essay!) Great memories. If I ever go back to UK (no thanks, and have enough money!) will go to Reckless Records in London and buy as many of the ones I once had.

47 years of listening to Cruel to be Kind, probably heard it close to 500 times and it never gets old. It’s on my 10 songs I want to hear before I die list.
