In the episode from the day before yesterday, after Surya had fallen asleep, Nandini looked at him and said, “Athan Sir, I also wish to have a baby… but I just couldn’t bring myself to tell you.
I want a baby, Athan Sir… I want *you* to come back and be born as my child… I wonder when I’ll get that blessing…”
That is exactly what Nandini said…
But what is the use of that?
She needs to express her desire directly to Surya to know what is actually on his mind.
Instead of doing that, if she starts off vaguely by telling him that I told Surekha “I can’t do it” (as a NO) and *then* brings up the topic of the baby, Surya is bound to respond the way he did only.
What is the point of Nandini voicing her wish only after he has fallen asleep, rather than telling him her true desire directly and asking for his thoughts?
If she had done that, Surya would have definitely given Nandini the SAME response that he gave to Surekha yesterday but, in an entirely different way – a friendly, affectionate and loving manner – which Nandini can understand and appreciate to clearly know what’s in his mind.
After all, as per the core theme of MM, Surya transforming Nandini both in her studies and take her to a high position in the business field – which he promised and challenged before his mother Sundaravalli – is important than both merely having a “baby” which is very normal between a husband and wife and it can happen anytime when both are ready and wish for the same.
So, Nandini herself was entirely responsible for the way Surya behaved towards her the other day.

Revisiting the episode from two days ago, many of us—including me—misunderstood Surya and criticized him for his response when Nandhini’s baby topic came up. But rewatching the scene makes it clear that Nandhini herself was the reason for his response. When Surya asked what she and Surekha had been discussing, Nandhini first said, “Surekha Amma asked me something… and I said NO,” and only then brought up the baby topic. Since she had already made it clear that she had said NO to Surekha before even letting Surya know the question, Surya naturally avoided giving his own opinion on the baby matter.
He probably didn’t want Nandhini to misunderstand his answer as pressure if he simply said that he wanted a baby. So, Surya was NOT AT ALL at fault that day. 💯👌👍❤️ His response was purely because of the way Nandhini herself presented the situation—and that’s something we completely missed initially. 😀😂🤣🎉

My observation was correct though it was late by a day as I realised it after watching the highlights later and Surya’s character just took a cue from Nandini’s initial response to Surekha – NO – which was a rider or a stumbling block for Surya to react any other way for Nandini telling him about them having a baby. 💯👍😀
Otherwise, it would mean that Surya is forcing Nandini to have a baby (that is, if he had said okay for that).🙆😞😀
In other words, instead of starting with what she told Surekha, if Nandini had opened a fresh conversation about them having a kid, Surya would have exactly given her the same response he gave to Surekha yesterday as Nandini’s upliftment in all fronts is very important now, which is also the core theme of MM to prove a point to his mother SV, than both planning for a baby which is very normal between any couple.💯✅👌👍👏😀

Even though we shouldn’t look for too much logic in TV serials, the romance track currently being shown for Surekha is absolutely terrible.
The reason is, there is no strong foundation for it.
Apparently, back when Surekha and Ila were in the 8th grade, Ila gave Surekha a love letter; Surekha’s older sister, Madhangi, complained to the principal, and Ila was issued a Transfer Certificate (expelled). His father had passed away when he was young.
Then, he studied in a government school, won a gold medal, completed college, and was selected for a job at Surya’s company. The moment Surekha saw him again, she felt a sense of guilt, which supposedly transformed into love.
At a temple, he carried his ailing mother to fulfill a vow.
On top of that, Nandhini gave her stamp of approval, claiming that a guy who takes such good care of his mother would surely take good care of his wife.
Immediately, Surekha fell in love with him.
Would a girl from a multi-millionaire family really fall in love like this?
