📰 Sen. Mitch McConnell on Sunday revealed for the first time that a fall led to his hospitalization, breaking the silence about his condition after weeks of mounting speculation about the Kentucky Republican’s health.
McConnell, said in a statement that he was “briefly unconscious” around the time he was first taken to the hospital and has undergone a battery of tests to try and determine what led to his fall. He said he was also treated for mild pneumonia and has been moved to a rehabilitation facility.
Then why has he been in the hospital for over a month if he didn’t break any bones or have stroke or hear attack?
📰 McConnell’s statement came on the heels of the unexpected death of his fellow Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. McConnell said he cannot return to the Senate “quite yet.”
Coupled with Graham’s passing, that will temporarily whittle the GOP majority in that chamber down by two, to 51-47, as Republicans try to increase military funding, advance President Donald Trump’s agenda and confirm Trump’s nominees.

I’m not American, but there’s something off about this photo that I can’t be the only one noticing. McConnell has been in the hospital for a month, and somehow all his facial features have miraculously disappeared; all his wrinkles and lines are no longer there. It could just be a matter of using various Photoshop filters and skin-smoothing tools to give him a glowing look. But then I wondered, why go to all that effort to make him appear so fit? The man is in his 80s; he’s frail, and he looks it. What really stood out was how his complexion seemed almost too perfect—too smooth and youthful—like maybe they went a little overboard trying to make him look good.
I use Photoshop a lot as an amateur photographer to edit my photos, adjust the lighting, and add filters to make them pop. The mistake they made was applying the effect to the entire picture instead of just highlighting McConnell, so his wife ended up with the same smooth filter on her face. Comparing photos of McConnell and his wife from a few months before he was hospitalised to this one, it seems heavily filtered—probably a bit too much—which is why people aren’t buying the whole “I’m doing fine” angle.
He didn’t say anything because he’s dead. You don’t spend over a month in hospital for a MILD case of pneumonia. Get him on camera talking without AI this time.
