I don’t get this whole testing her and wanting her to fight back and then telling her “now you’re in.” Why would the mother in law want the daughter in law to fight back? Why not just treat her nice to begin with? So, if she wouldn’t have fought back, she wouldn’t have accepted her? I mean, some people respect their elders and the position she has as his mother. And different people have different personalities. I just don’t get why someone couldn’t or wouldn’t just be respectful. Testing her daughter in law to want her to fight back. For what? Why? She wanted her daughter in law to stand up to her and stand up for herself. I guess maybe that’s it. Maybe I just answered my own question, but I still don’t get why someone would do this or want someone to fight back or stand up to them or stand up for themselves. Just why? To prove their not a pushover? And if they were, then you’re going to keep bullying them?!
