You have all been asking for it, so we are excited to announce our new album, Marrow Deep, will be released August 28th, 2026 and we are kicking it off with a new video for our new song “Snakes For Dinner”, which features an appearance from our long time friend, Josh Homme.
It’s been quite the journey making this album, and we are very happy with how it came out, we can not wait for you to hear the whole thing! Usually, when Mastodon bring something really catchy to the table – it has to grow on me a bit. Oblivion had to grow on me back in the day but this one instantly stuck.
Snakes for Dinner is simultaneously the catchiest and most challenging song they’ve ever written. It’s got riffs, crazy time signatures stuff, emotionally resonate lyrics, sound scapes and key solos, guitar solo, it’s prog, it punk, it’s metal, it has a guest feature!
Snakes for Dinner is EVERYTHING in one relatively short song. It’s fresh, ambitious, and energetic. I boarded the Mastodon train years ago, and I’ve always supported them, but I haven’t been this blown away by them since Crack the Skye.
If the rest of Marrow Deep is as impressive as the 2 songs they’ve released – They’ll have yet another highwater mark in their nearly flawless discography.
