I met Mary several times and she was always very gracious to me I worked for a magazine publisher who was friends with Hefner so I had the opportunity to visit the Mansion several times. It was quite an experience but I never forgot how kind Mary was to me. She was always very professional too.

When thinking about women like Mary, I think you have to put into perspective that while yes she could tell these women about all of the predatory problems that come with the industry they’re getting into but she also knows from overtime that they don’t care the glitz and glam of Playboy is more lowering
So I can either voice my concerns to these models and then have them go back to Hugh and then my power and access is limited and I can’t protect them at all
Or I can let adults be adults and always be a comforting ear whenever you’re ready to come to me
I think that is a good point! Everyone coming into a job at the playboy mansion (Mary or models alike) presumably have some idea of what is going on – not necessarily the full extent of HH’s abuse, but at the minimum there is some awareness that there are unsavory parts to the job

I never trusted Mary. I suspect she was not a girls girl. She was Hef’s side kick and if I was a woman I would have never trusted opening up with her like holly always did. You know Mary went straight to her no matter how much she was asked to stay silent.
Stacey Burke has made several statements that she does not feel like Mary liked her at all and was not close
Those comments have seemed to specify they were not close towards the end of Mary’s life! Not that they never had a good relationship. Stacy has commented here too and did not make that correction.

finding out Mary and captain bob are buried together has me on a chokehold. you can feel their love for each other when depicted together on the show
She was sweet and kind but also product of her time.
Mary O’Connor was a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
She was portrayed as the sweet mother hen, but she was Hef’s partner in crime and orchestrated where the bodies were buried…so to speak.
