Thanks again for the insightful session! I’m curious—do you have any historical data on how many failed follow-through days usually happen before a successful one?
Hopefully when I have some downtime Justin and I will do a webinar focused on failed FTDs. Thanks for watching❤
Thank you for the analysis. Does anyone know what time periods it is best to use the dow jones and when i should switch to the s&p for the homework? also is it better to use the nasdaq for the 90s?
Typically I start with the Nasdaq and study it for the full time frame. For Dow stuff I use it for 1900 to around 1990 occasionally up to 2000. S&P 500 can be used the same way Nasdaq is…so full time frame. Generally growth stocks trade more inline with Nasdaq. Hope that helps🍀❤️
@W@Webby5150perfect thank you for the advice
Learn so much from down markets. Thank you.
❤❤
SPY and QQQ both had a spike in volume on Friday, and a upward reversal (mostly after hours). Based on historic precedence, the downtrend stopped with volume is a reliable indicator of a coming rally.
This video never mentions volume even once? Suggestion: Go over it again with the spikes in volume in mind.
The 200 day MA is a conspicuous psychological milestone. But is it really all that consequential?
This video includes the admission that “follow through days” aren’t really an indicator of what’s next, so you might consider abandoning that particular pattern.
We all know that downtrends are followed by uptrends. Looking back, as you do, where would you buy and where would you sell if you went back in time? But we can’t go back, so we buy & sell based on where it’s going next! Even the folks at IBD predict, in spite of the fact they claim that they don’t.
Hi Webby and Ali. Does the methodology of Rally + F/through day, apply to stocks, also? Or at least to “market stocks” as you have been saying, referring to Mag7 stocks?
I’ve been working with about $70k and trying to understand this rally + follow-through day concept, does it actually apply to individual stocks like the Mag7 or just the overall market?
I was trying to use that same approach with around $100k and got confused applying it to single stocks. I ended up getting guidance from a CFP and focused more on overall trends instead, and honestly my portfolio’s up like 35% this year
@WilliamsCartxx1 Who did you end up going with? I’ve been thinking I need help understanding this better
I worked with a CFP, Amy Beth Dunn. We trimmed some growth and rebalanced toward income and downside protection. Nothing dramatic, just smarter allocation.
It’s a relief to know there’s a more, thanks for the mention. I’ll look her up
Very good episode… it was interesting to watch all cases in time, and the different reactions… context always important…
Thanks for the detailed walk throughs across multiple time windows. I’d like to request sharing your config of the moving averages if you can. Its tough to reason similarly when my setup of averages look different than what is being shown. TIA.
