The Lindsay Clancy murder trial nears a conclusion as it enters a new week on Monday. Last week, the defense officially rested. While it admits that the Duxbury mother killed her three young children, it says contends that she was under the influence of postpartum psychosis. Prosecutors gave a different take, one that says she was still able to tell right from wrong.

Whether she wanted to sleep couldn’t sleep wasn’t sleeping – it all potentially leads to psychosis – I hate it when mental health professionals just defer to the DSMV when we know human behavior is not an exact science- we are taught to look for these clusters of symptoms but also be aware of what we observe and hear- the physical needs of a client whether that’s post partum- thyroid issues- hormones- having given birth- elderly could be a UTI issues- this is so frustrating to watch these mental health professionals as a representation of those of us professionals who use more then the DSMV to diagnose and support client care –

Why is no one talking about dissociation- depersonalization- derealization? I’m hearing this in her symptomology and can make a person very scared and beginning to feel psychotic- no one checked her cortisol levels or theyoud levels? I’m a therapist and these are front line ruling out I have all my clients do with symptoms she was having- these levels of anxiety and fear wreak havoc on the body and brain- I’m just so shocked about the diagnoses I am not hearing being diagnosed – so sad and frustrating

Shes guilty. No parent would off their children after hearing a voice once telling you to do this. Has to be hearing a voice over and over, over time and have a very strong manipulative compelling component to it that brakes you down along with altered state of reality. She had feelibgs if harming her kids, invasive thoughts, and she acted on that. Many husbands off their wives, for the same reason.
