A weeklong preliminary hearing for the man accused of killing Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk got underway Monday in a Utah courtroom where prosecutors will present the evidence they have against Tyler Robinson. Robinson, is charged with aggravated murder for the killing of Kirk. Prosecutors have said that during the hearing they plan to introduce forensic analyses, surveillance video, recordings of witness statements, autopsy findings and alleged messages from Robinson admitting to the crime.

Funeral services for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei continued Sunday as the United States presses ahead with negotiations aimed at fully reopening the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. Navy described traffic along the vital waterway as steady but below prewar levels. The threat level, however, remained “substantial” as crews worked to clear mines and survey the strait. Khamenei was killed in the February airstrike that started the war with Iran. No official count of mourners were given, but many carried signs and banners vowing revenge.
