I’m from South Africa and you can only see a handful of stars it dont get better than that
I don’t live in cities, one, there’s crazies driving past the speed limit(sometimes) two, it’s hurting the environment and nature as a whole , three, it’s busy and it’s noisy , four, obviously light pollution
I don’t mind if you live in a city , I’d rather live somewhere far away from modern civilisation,(and maybe go to the outback since I’ve never been there surprisingly)
I live in a nice small humble village away from the chaos so it’s good
But there is minor light pollution, dang it!
I’m grateful that I live in a place where light pollution is still minimal and I can take pictures of the night skies with my phone
Agreed… I live near a designated dark sky zone
Between near slightness and light pollution I don’t remember any dark skies with stars.
I’m glad I’m not living in a city. We use lights at night only upto a time and then goes to bed in peace.
As an astrophotographer in the city, I can confirm (as can many other’s). Its out of hand. Especially with LEDS. Our scopes can block lots of light pollution. But the blue wavelengths of LED’s are just obnoxious and very hard to eliminate.
I have taken some action, here in UK and encouraged 900+ businesses across UK to #SwitchOffTheLights – tiny amount, but I feel it’s something @switchoffthelights7136

I found this video because I’m from Jamaica and I see stars every night when I’m there the sky is full of stars I also live in Maryland I don’t see stars at night so here I am thanks lol
