Laurieann Gibson does not walk into a room quietly. She enters like a performance already in progress.
Sitting down with Jason, the legendary creative director, choreographer, and visionary reflects on the moments that shaped some of the biggest artists in music while also opening up about the battles people never saw behind the scenes. From Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj to Diddy, Kanye West, and the making of iconic pop culture moments, Laurieann speaks with the same intensity and passion that built her career.
But this conversation is bigger than celebrity stories.
She talks about what it actually means to carry vision in an industry full of imitation, why so many artists lose themselves chasing validation, and how creativity dies when people stop taking risks. Throughout the interview, Laurieann keeps returning to one idea: greatness is not comfortable, and most people are too afraid to protect it once they finally get close to it.
There are funny moments, chaotic moments, and moments where the conversation feels almost spiritual.
She shares stories about leaving Toronto with nothing but a dream, studying at Alvin Ailey, learning the power of hip hop culture in New York, and building a career by trusting instincts that other people doubted. She also gets candid about ego, loyalty, “yes men,” and the tension that comes with helping create stars who eventually believe they no longer need guidance.
At the center of it all is Laurieann’s belief that art should move people, not just impress them.
Passionate, theatrical, and completely unapologetic, this is Laurieann Gibson in full form: honest, inspirational, intense, and impossible to look away from.

Where she been…….I enjoyed her reality show.
I was of that era who watched Making the Band from its inception. Hell, I went to the auditions and waited in line; all up until the time they said we had to sign something…and I was like, “I’m good.” But I’ve always respected Laurieann for how she advocated for herself and maintained her dignity through it all. This interview just shows the world (especially those who have chosen to misunderstand her) just how spiritually grounded she is. And to God be the GLORY, it’s what has KEPT her!! Continued blessings. P.S. She looks amazing and beautiful ♥. ~Vernae~
She said absolutely nothing bad about her

Love her! This interview was so fun and tasteful. There was also a lot of unspoken language— Jason is messy! lol
