Wait why would you secretly hate Hal Jordan, if you know what green lantern is, you love Hal , he’s probably the greatest green lantern ever. Your pretty off on Hal
were abin sur, sinestro and hal all been chosen by a ring already before they were all mentors/mentees but john hasnt even been chosen by a ring but by a guardian who’s preference is for him to get the ring after hal dies? so hes been forced into the situation outside of the traditional norms of being selected by a ring, being a lantern and then being trained by another senior lantern all having a ring, where as john doesnt fit that mold, like who knows if hals ring would even proposition john, to ask if he is afraid etc?
