Looks better than that crap Superman and Supergirl movie. The casting in each was right but Lanterns seems to be the only project that has got it right in both casting, writing etc so far. I trust Lindelof. I trust Matt Reeves. I don’t trust James Gunn. I also don’t trust Zack Snyder unless he only directing and the writing is left for more capable people. Very naive way to launch the DCU from Gunn. You can start with a Superman movie you need to have a Batman movie right after then you can have a Lanterns show then you can have a Wonder Woman movie, followed by a Cyborg show, followed by an Aquaman movie, followed by a Flash movie. You can introduce Green Arrow along the way too. You can do a Justice League movie then. You can do a sequel to Superman introduce Supergirl in that after that and the same for Batman then you can do a Supergirl movie and have a Green Arrow Show alongside it then you can have Lobo movie, a Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman sequel, Justice League 2. The way you look at it for every show you do you look at it like a 5 season project so you always have DC content running year in year out. You establish a strong foundation with universally known characters then you bleed in Supergirl, Green Arrow, Lobo, Suicide Squad you establish them properly then you can start playing around with Booster Gold, Creature Commandos etc but you need your anchor characters in each phase the anchors are Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Aquaman. Then you have prospect Anchor characters for future phases Green Arrow, Flash, Supergirl. In Marvel the anchor characters were Tony Stark and Steve Rodgers. Thor has become an anchor character, Spiderman is now an anchor character. You can have a varied tone especially with DC characters that’s partly untapped potential because Marvel didn’t really offer that. James Gunn is ironically jumping the gun with introducing certain characters. Peacemaker season 2 shouldn’t exist but Gunn’s ego about having his previous project being a part of the new DCU. As a CEO of this you need to step out of your ego and do what is best for the long term the first 2 stages of creating the DCU should have been straightforward the thing about Supergirl was it was so desperately trying to be a James Gunn movie when it would have been better off trying to stand on it’s own and preferably with a more experienced writer too. They need to hire the likes of Dan Trachtenberg, Gareth Evans, Leigh Whannell, Neil Blomkamp etc. As a CEO of DC Gunn shouldn’t be directing at all really but he can’t help himself that level of lack of discipline is exactly why this DCU won’t work and is why Supergirl failed because it shouldn’t even have been greenlit in the first place and Gunn was working on the sequel to Superman when he his attention should have on overseeing the making of Supergirl. You don’t let the patient run the asylum. The reason why Marvel took a dip after endgame is because it coincided with the departure of Bob Iger, the departure of anchor characters such as Tony Stark and Steve Rogers without a clear direction for the new anchor characters to take the reigns. It’s important.
This is brilliant idea 💡
