In the land of junk food, agriculture is controlled by two magic words: productivity and profitability. We investigate the excesses of American agribusiness.
America’s two million farmers are formidable businessmen. XXL farms, feedlots and pesticides: anything goes when producing more and more. In the cattle feedlots in the Midwest, animals are herded by the thousands into pens without a single blade of grass, fattened up and drugged with growth hormones. These are industrial methods pushed to the extreme.
Every year, the country’s farmers gather at the Farm Machinery Show in Kentucky, the apex of the US agriculture industry. There, one can find million-dollar tractors and a show that fans wouldn’t miss for the world: the tractor race is the most prestigious in the country. In California, we investigate the gigantic plantations where carrots, artichokes and strawberries are grown. With a desperate shortage of water, farmers wat at breakneck speed, even if it means depriving the region’s inhabitants of access to drinking water.

Why hasn’t anyone made a business out of deer meat with all that are out there loose damaging cars raising insurance rates and procreating by the hundreds of thousands in many areas????

@TubingatYouTubewell guys must not hunt much anymore. We ended up with hundreds more than before hunting season in areas I cut thru for my job where it had been 90% small critters.

It was called ”The ABC 7.30 report, titled “There are more than a million wild deer in Australia”.
The Issue: Sambar deer are rapidly destroying fragile Victorian native ecosystems and pushing species to the brink.
Context: While causing massive damage, deer have historically been protected under Victoria’s Wildlife Act, creating controversy over how to manage them.

Well you voted for people that will only worsen this catastrophe. They will get away with it too as long as they keep making their billions and cutting their own taxes while the common people are left in this mess. But some people still don’t get it despite the warnings.

After spending money on farm machines you cant do home repairs because the systems installed are the intellectual property of the manufacturers, you pay them thousands to access these systems,so in the end even though you bought and paid for it ,it doesn’t belong to you,another scam or a wonderful corporate profit gouging innovation in the land of unfettered capitalism.
American people will eat till they get fat too
