Josh Tyrangiel, staff writer at The Atlantic and author of “AI for Good: How Real People Are Using Artificial Intelligence to Fix Things That Matter” joins Jon Stewart to discuss why there is a brief but closing window to use public pressure and political will to demand AI that actually works with human beings, and doesn’t replace them. Tyrangiel shares how teachers, doctors and caregivers are quietly using AI as a tool to change lives. They also discuss why Fortune 100 CEOs don’t want to talk about AI’s impact on their workforce and this idea of imagining “tech without the tech companies.” #DailyShow #JonStewart #ArtificialIntelligence

I’ve been looking at it this way for a couple of years now and I’m so glad to hear you talk about it like this. It’s all been the abundant accelerationists on one end and the nimby stop it at all costs on the other end. This is much closer to the right path forward, if such a path proves to exist. Thank you
It could be argued that the AI companies get the money because they have done the work. But it is also fair that they somehow compensate “us” for the (our) information they have used, and not just pay out to their CEOs and shareholders.
All we need is for government to exert some control, which so far has been circumvented by the deluge of cash to politicians.
Yes! “Intellectual property.”
Life was so much better before the internet and especially smartphones. Now AI…
The data centers are ecologically destructive, big time!
