The whole of AI is part and parcel of capitalism, and it’s run and directed by very, very rich capitalists. AI isn’t a neutral thing, it’s not just a thinking thing, it’s a preprogrammed thinking thing, and the very, very rich have control over that. That’s why Grok is a racist. That Grok will no longer tell you that the right is more violent than the left. That’s why AI is sycophantic – to addict you to it.
AI controllers use it to collect all your information this is why they need data centres. If your conversations were kept on your machine then they wouldn’t need data centres.
All this is capitalism. If you don’t go after capitalism then it will produce something else to oppress us with. If you put capitalism at the heart of your opposition you will be able to bring together groups who are fighting against different individual parts of capitalism. And if people who are focused on the individual products of capitalism come together then you could end up with a very big campaign against capitalism, rather than everyone distributed over different focused campaigns.
Here’s AIs version of my post, to compare and contrast….
The AI debate missing the point: AI is not a neutral system; it is designed, funded, and deployed by concentrated capital. Alignment choices, sycophantic guardrails, and data collection are features of a system built for engagement and profit.
The reason computing is centralized in massive data centers isn’t just a technical constraint—it serves a business model reliant on harvesting user data rather than empowering on-device user sovereignty.
As Tyrangiel noted, capitalism has a massive head start [00:18]. But treating AI as an isolated issue misses the root cause. Uniting single-issue movements against the underlying economic incentives gives us a far stronger foundation for meaningful change.
We need to stop this “AI is inevitable.” We need to be CRYSTAL CLEAR about what we’re referring to when we say “AI” because we’ve been using computer models and machine learning in research settings for years, but that is VASTLY different from gen AI that we think of today. Gen AI investors are using previous models to launder the reputation of gen AI.
Whereas previous/existing models are useful for parsing of data points, images etc., gen AI’s only purpose is scraping data to sell off and as an investment vehicle.
It’s harmful to just say “AI can be useful” without that nuance.
We don’t need AI. We were better b4 it. Don’t use it.

Your not being realistic. We are in control we can slow it down or stop it. It isn’t something that should be rushed. Better to step back than rush
I’ve been dealing with AI keeps leaving vital info out. Have to constantly pull it back on track, very inaccurate on information. Has sent me down so many rabbit holes.
