I saw this movie on the first night and the first showing. I was 11 and the wonderful thing about it was; that you had no idea as to what was coming. People screamed, popcorn and Coke when flying into the air. I wouldn’t go into the water for a long time. I was frightened of the water until I was seven years old and then JAWS came and set me back a long way. JAWS was three separate movies in one, the three main characters were fighting their own demons, the irony was perfect. It is my favorite movie ever made. Speaking of irony, had the shark not worked the film would not have been remotely as big as it was.
Remember that name, Steven Spielberg, something tells me this may not be the last we hear of him.
Oh, when I was a kid, I went years and years without ever seeing the film because I thought it was just some goofy movie about a shark. One Friday night, it came on, and I finally decided to watch it for the first time. I was blown away!! What an amazing film! All that time, I had no clue it was a cinematic masterpiece.
