Slow this down to 0.75 speed, close your eyes, and this sounds a lot like Forrest Gump has been smuggling da-rugs on his shrimp boat.

In the early 80s, the guys running the drug business were often intelligent decent men. It changed quickly in the mid 80s

Mind you at the time all this happened Florida was wide open with zero defense of the boarder to speak of. Doing this now days is a sure way to get caught. It was just a different time back then. One step removed from the Barney Fife days. So you had a 70% plus chance of getting away with “dirty deeds” and the brick weed and coke where everywhere. In every state and city. Of course, because the gov. wasn’t getting their cut they sent the military and every 3 letter agency and invented some new ones. Florida was truly out of control, then became a war zone in the 80’s and 90’s. Pure party wild.

Id like to know how they approached local law enforcement and local judges and prosecutors to pay them off. That has to be what helped them avoid arrest for so many years until the feds finally busted them.

On Johnny Mitchellโ€™s documentary they said the guy who started the trafficking name was Craig, is this a different guy?
