I think this is a great movie! Yes, okay, definitely some cheesy elements, but well worth it for any discerning mind !
Think of it … there was “a fall”. we are born on the OUTSIDE. ..God.. is on the INSIDE (paradigm). We humans are all trying to “get back in”. It’s NOT so hard to understand. This movie describes an end to the world, which has to happen so that all that is OUTSIDE will become INSIDE. The issue then becomes …what was in YouR mind and heart, The OUTSIDE or the INSIDE? The OUTSIDE would be the Earth (Staying Earth-bound). The INSIDE would be a humility and conversation with God, but by faith. It’s a challenging place to be, but we all are part of the dilemma! If you come to touch ChRist, the paradigm of the INSIDE touches the OUTSIDE within you, and displaces it. It’s freaky but pretty doggone real.

That crucifix scene at the beginning was awesome. What a surprise! Maybe the crucifix meeting at Chichen Itza temple and new birth was to cleanse all the terrible human sacrifice there… Good conquers Evil kind of thing. However… all that buildup to *Doomsday* .. and then the “okay! everything’s fine!!” ending… adds a helping of ‘whine with the cheese’ !!
If the rotation of the Earth was to actually stop all of a sudden? There would be tidal waves over a mile high, Winds would increase to over 1,040 mph, there wouldn’t be anything left on the surface of the Earth,. Entire cities would be blown completely down,. Needless to say what happens to all the cars and people and neighborhood houses. Just because the Earth stops doesn’t mean the wind and tides will stop too, they are spinning with the Earth as the same velocity, Earth stops, the wind and oceans will keep going. What’s in motion tends to stay in motion. And the Earth is spinning around 1,040 mi an hour and when it stops, everything else keeps going at the same speed!! Have a spinning ball full of water, and all of a sudden stop the ball, observe the water on the inside, although the ball stopped the water keeps going at the same speed. That’s what happens if the earth was to stop rotating! It will be literally the end of everything as we know it until it settles back down.
Play at 2X. It’s twice as good and only takes 50 minutes…. !!! 😮
