Next, we “Visit the Interpretation Center” to learn about the unique biodiversity, geology, history, and conservation of the Galapagos Islands. Following this educational experience, we “Explore Frigatebird Hill,” where we’re greeted by breathtaking views of the island and an opportunity to observe Frigatebirds in their natural habitat. Subsequently, we dive into an underwater adventure with “Snorkeling at Kicker Rock,” a sheer-walled tuff cone that houses a rich abundance of marine life. Our adventure continues to “Espanola Island,” home to an array of exotic bird species. Marvel at the diverse wildlife and vibrant landscapes as we walk along the island’s trails. From here, we journey to “Lobo Island and Ochoa Beach,” where you can spot fur seals, sea lions, and numerous bird species while basking on the beautiful sandy beaches. Next on our itinerary is “Seymour Norte & Bachas Beach,” known for its fantastic snorkeling opportunities and the chance to see marine iguanas, flamingos, and perhaps even nesting sea turtles! We conclude our trip with a visit to “Floreana Island,” where history, mystery, and wildlife intertwine. From flamingos to giant tortoises, this island is a treasure trove of Galapagos wonders. in 1973 on an eighteen month’s voyage from UK to New Zealand in our own yacht, my family, husband and two sons, nine and six years old, spent four weeks sailing among these unique islands. We could sail to any island we wished without restriictions and met only six other yachts the whole time.. The Galapagos were the highlight of our voyage and I shall never forget how unspoilt the islands were in those far off times, fifty two years ago.
