As long as the 1000-point competitions do not take place right before a Grand Slam, the two-week system is fine. What should be changed are the tournaments that are immediately followed by a Grand Slam, especially since they consist of two combined 1000-point events, such as Madrid and Rome, and Canada with Cincinnati, which are followed by the US Open. As for the rest, there is no problem.

Relax a little bit i don’t like the longer masters too but we’re talking for just 5 days more in each of them and if you take out the first round then you have good matches. You can just don’t watch the first 2 days it’s not an obligation to watch it all. Also the players counsil vote positive for the longer masters, now some like tsitsipas changed their minds but there are contracts you can’t go back so easily and if you hear an interview by Munar he said that he prefers the longer version for now and that a lot of players prefer it except from the top guys

Solution: Look at Formula 1. There is a desire to make money for the organisers, which I get. So, if they absolutely INSIST on having people there for an extended period, then this is what you do; run the equivalent of a spring race before the main event. Have the actual masters event in the second week, and in the first week, have a 500/250/125 event. This way the “big guns” can come for the second week only if they want.

In addition, this can be tweaked; do a 125/250/500 week, do the 1000, THEN do the next tournament as a 1000, followed by the 125/250/500. This way the big players can play the 2*1000’s back to back, and if other players choose, they could do all 4 weeks. This way the organisers get multiple weeks, and the big players arent hanging around on off days.

I’d even go further. I’d split the masters into dedicated months, so that there were only 5 masters months, with 2 masters tournaments in a month. Feb/Mar/Apr, then Oct/Nov. This leaves Jan (AO), May/Jun (RG), Jun/Jul (Wimby), and Aug/Sep (US).

Everything else can be fitted around these masthead events, with the main tour ending in Nov.

And I know there are the ATP/WTA finals. I’d almost make them a Christmas event, and its only really for a very small number of players. Considering the pay check, that time of year could also generate huge revenues for the organisers.
