I’m Devon Lum, one of the producers of this video. Our team analyzed footage, photographs and law enforcement radio communications from the June 8 demonstrations in Los Angeles to piece together how L.A. police severely injured two protesters.

We interviewed L.A.P.D. representatives, legal and medical experts and the protesters themselves to understand the context and ramifications of the incidents. Let us know if you have any questions and we will try to answer below. Thank you for watching.

Law enforcement did warn them that less lethal munitions were going to be used and serious injuries could occur. All of these people decided to continue their unlawful assembly.
