On their first day of training, all aspiring officers in US Navy Officer Candidate School must endure a punishing gauntlet known as “First Tuesday,” an intense event that tests them mentally and physically in the span of just under two hours.
Business Insider’s chief video correspondent Graham Flanagan went inside “First Tuesday” at Navy OCS in Newport, Rhode Island as 126 candidates began their journey toward earning their commissions as Naval officers. Led by a US Marine Corps drill instructor, the event sets the tone for the 13-week training course, potentially weeding out anyone having second thoughts.

Folks the window to buy $SPCX50K is shrinking more and more each day ..
Soon AI is going to operate there in form of robots. AI officers would need to get saluted …
how are they complaining in iran only to go to thailand for vacation?
And then they get on the ship and act like they know more than a Chief who has years of experience.
In the Army we have to go through Basic Training first then OCS
Not true
I thought Army OCS was at Fort Benning?
How true, Ft. Ord 1967, then to the “NAM.
the narrator sounds depressed now lol

Do the Marine Corps OCS next
i left the Marines 20 years ago and had no idea Marine DI’s train the Navy Officers. this entire time…
Yes, because a lot of officer training is integrated. There are Marine advisors for companies at USNA, and there is always at least a Marine Corps Captain and Gunnery Sergeant attached to each NROTC battalion (and Marine Officers can command or be XO of an NROTC battalion). They’re not Drill Instructors, but many of the enlisted Marine advisors have served a tour as a drill instructor at least.
Navy Owned, Marine Corps Trained.
Army OCS 1991, we had to survive 36 hours of hell just to start Day One of the course. They let us go to bed on Sunday before the course began…at 2330 it started…and then it was a painful blur until Tuesday morning. Good times.

So proud my son went Navy. He is a retired Commander.
Well it’s not Orlando and it’s not 1990 but i remember the grinder in Orlando and doing this exact thing with the exercise. Just keep at it and push yourself, it’s not always easy but it will teach you discipline and how to achieve the things you want in life. It’s been almost 40 years and i still remember it like it was yesterday.
